Who Needs Zygomatic Dental Implants In Monroeville, PA?

an image of a man with dental implants.
Traditional titanium dental implants need enough bone density and volume in the jaw, in order for them to be successfully placed in the jawbone. People, however, don’t need a sufficient amount of bone density and volume in their jawbone in order for them to get treated with zygomatic dental implants in Monroeville, PA. How Do I Know I Need Zygomatic Dental Implants In Monroeville, PA?

Dental implants can be used to replace any number of missing teeth so that the look, function, and health of the patient’s smile is restored. Before people go to get treated with dental implants, they will need a sufficient amount of jawbone density to support them so that they can be successfully placed. For those who have low or minimal jawbone density in their upper jawbone, however, they will need to get treated with zygomatic dental implants instead.   With zygomatic dental implants, patients won’t need a sufficient amount of jawbone density to support them, and bone grafting procedures won’t be needed so they can get treated with them. Patients don’t need bone grafting procedures (sinus lifts) or enough jawbone density to support zygomatic dental implants, because zygomatic dental implants are securely placed into the patient’s zygoma, or cheek, bone.

How Are Zygomatic Dental Implants Placed?

Zygomatic dental implants are a specialized type of dental implant, used for patients who have insufficient jawbone density in their upper jaw for standard dental implants. The procedure process for placing zygomatic dental implants involves the following steps:

Consolation:

An initial consultation and CT scan are performed to evaluate the patient's facial structures and to plan how the zygomatic dental implants will be angled and placed.

Sedation Dentistry:

In order for patients to have an anxiety-free and comfortable zygomatic dental implant procedure, sedation dentistry can be administered to the patient.

Surgically Placing Zygomatic Dental Implants:

The zygomatic dental implant is strategically and securely placed in the patient’s zygoma bone, bypassing the areas of the jaw with inadequate bone structure.

Healing:

The surgical area where the zygomatic dental implants are placed is then stitched up and allowed to heal. Over a period of months, the bone will fuse with the zygomatic dental implant in a process known as osseointegration.

The Custom-Made New Smile:

Once healing is complete, a custom-made dental prosthesis is attached to the zygomatic dental implant by a skilled dentist, restoring the functionality and aesthetics of the patient’s smile.
